*In Victoria, releasing balloons into the environment is considered littering and is illegal, with fines for individuals and companies. A single balloon released by an individual can result in a fine of up to $991, while a company could be fined up to $4,956. For multiple balloon releases, individuals can be fined up to $16,522 and companies up to $82,610.
